Lunagirl - Goddess Pendants

There is still time to play with Lunagirl Moonbeams and her wonderful Goddess challenge. I could not decide which lady goddess to choose so I decided to create a little goddess trio

All images on the three collages are from Lunagirl Moonbeams' Classical Beauties and Victorian Butterflies collage sheets apart from the script on the left-hand side (Magic Moonlight Free Images)
I turned the collages into pendants

using Ranger Memory Frames and Glas
and adding a little resin flower and some lace

Hope you have time to pop over to Lunagirl Moonbeams blog for fabulous inspiration from the DT and to play along! Have a great weekend, Petra.

various digital elements from Lunagirl (you might remember the little birdie from my last digital collage (lol) ), Graphics Fairy (the little crown) and for all other elements Itkupilli

Inspiration Avenue - Postcard

Gosh, I don't know where time goes at the moment ... I noticed that I haven't taken part in the Inspiration Avenue challenge for AGES! But this time I could not let the challenge pass because I love postcards and I am just working on a little set of digital postcards (lol) This is number 3, you can find the first two here ...
I know it is not Spring anymore but it is lovely to work with Spring flowers and a little birdie hiding behind ....
Most of the images I used are from Lunagirl Moonbeam's wonderful collage sheets,
the lace is from Martora.

Have a lovely evening, Petra.

Lunagirl - Digital Playtime

While working on my tag with the digital background, I just couldn't help myself to play with the wonderful digital carte postale background image from Lunagirl. It is such a shame to use just one, so I used most of the postcard images from the Carte Postale 2 collage sheet
and created a new background for some digital art ...
for both projects I used images from Lunagirl Victorian Butterfly Collage Sheet
and the adorable rose girl is part of a Free Digital Collage Sheet
Backgrounds and images from Lunagirl just work so well together, they complement each other perfectly in style and colour. It is so much fun to create printable digital art ... postcards, in a frame, ready to be embellished, .........

If you are tempted to play, Lunagirl has quite a few free images on her blog. And if you need help finding digital backgrounds, please visit the digital backgrounds category at Lunagirl.com, where all these will be ON SALE for over 40% off throughout the digital background challenge!

Enjoy the Summer, stay cool and have a lovely weekend, Petra.

Autumn Nostalgia

Because of all the lovely visitors staying with us, my craft room is now a bedroom and out of bounds for crafting (boohoo) ... but I have to admit I am getting a bit crafty-desperate now and had to do SOMETHING. So I played a little bit with some digital images and created a digital ATC for Craft Artwork
using images from the web ( frame, leaves and spider web), magazine page, Magic Moonlight Free Images, e-vint.com and Martora. Have a lovely Monday, Petra.

Greenpaper June Collage

Every month Mary from Greenpaper offers the most challenging (3) image combination, the rule being: Create any piece of art using at least part of each of the 3 images. This is the first time I participate and it was not easy. My piece has been created digitally and I am still not sure whether I like it or not (lol) ...... have a good start to the week, Petra.

S for Spoon

... and strawberry (lol). This week Rebecca challenges us to create a tag with a spoon theme ... easy - I thought. But then I realised I don't have any stamps which I could have used ..... a definite gap in my stamp drawer. So I just played digitally and created a little digital collage which I printed and embellished it only very minimalistic that is a tiny button and some twine
images: Graphics Fairy, Clipart ETC - paper: Decoupage paper -
button twine from the Ribbon Girl
, a tiny button from my stash

As soon as I had started the ideas came popping up and I created some more digital images which I will also turn into tags ... will share them with you in one of my next emails, Petra.

It's All About Hats

During yesterday's Royal Wedding is was 'almost' all about fashion and especially the hats the ladies wore for the occasion. A wonderful bonnet worn by a beautiful lady was also the focal point for the April Bella Creations Oh La La challenge. The base for the creation was an image by Gecko Galz
The task was to decorate the bonnet 'You may use the entire image or just the hat. But the hat you use must be the hat in the Gecko Galz image. And the finished product must be a tag ....' I did not have a lot of time so decided to go digitally for the creation, Petra.

Open Theme

.. at Sunday Postcard Art. Well, there is the obvious one ... New Year et all ... and the not so obvious ....
This collage is based on a German song: Wir sind Kinder dieser Erde (we are children of the World) ... we all belong to one world.

This is the last day of 2010. It was tremendously difficult in parts but also full of miracles and adventures. I made so many new friends giving me the opportunity to explore endless possibilities, and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate each single one of you
... wishing you a very happy New Year full of happiness and wonderful moments, take care wherever you are and whatever you do, Petra. xx

Winter Solstice

Today, 21 December at 23:38 Coordinated Universal Time the winter solstice will occur (summer solstice in the Southern Hemisphere). It is the day with the longest night of the year and the least daylight. The sun is at its lowest point today. The winter solstice marks the 'rebirth' of the sun and is being celebrated throughout the world.
This little image is based on a graphic from Magic Moonlight Studio Free Images. I altered it digitally and it is my celebration and homage to the change of light. Happy winter solstice, Petra.

Robins

This is my first ever entry for Sunday Postcard Art. There was never really time to do something but when I saw this weeks theme: Robins, I could not resist. It is a wonderful theme ... I love these little birds, they are so curious and so cute to observe
The cute little robin image is from Vintage Catnip which I underlayed it with a music sheet from Karen, the Graphics Fairy ... the frame is also from Karen's vast collection. Snowflakes, hats and scarfs are from the web. Warm Winter Wishes, Petra.

Civilization and Punches

You might wonder what this has got to do with each other .... this is the new challenge Gingersnap Creations Spicy Supply challenge: Punches within the cycle of celebrating the Ancient Ages this month. Oh dear, this was a challenege because I do not really use punches, I only own a handful of them mainly edge punches. But I have a very good friend and colleague Jane who is the papercraft wizard in the office and she helped me. She came with a bag full of punches for me to choose ... thank you so much, Jane. Otherwise it would have been a real struggle ... well, it still was difficult.
This week all students went back to school in England. All dads and mums had been talking about this event for the whole of last week so I thought it would be an appropriate topic for my card
I chose one of the old greek scholars as focal point for the digital collage: Pythagoras. This reminds me very much of my schooltime struggling with geometry - it was not my favourite subject (lol). The card consists of various layers of kraftcard and patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket. All images are from educational web sites. I used edge, circle and a corner punch, a label punch in the inside of the card ... and, of course, the apple for the teacher which is a punch as well

If you like punches you will love this challenge and if you don't feel so comfortable with them, have a go anyway. I realised it is great fun and I maybe need to consider to get, well, some more punches (lol), happy Wednesday, Petra.

Georgia O'Keeffe and a Lovely Surprise

While researching the life and work of Georgia O'Keeffe for the Gingersnap Creations challenge 'Red & Black', I was not only taken by Georgia's work but also by her story and by herself. Especially her face captured in so many photos taken by Alfred Stieglitz is impressive, at times full of melancholie ... it seems to speak.
When starting to work on my challenge card, at first I created a digital collage using one of Stieglitz' photos combining it with one of Georgia's quotations and a couple of my poppy photos .... and I just thought I share this collage with you

Now to the very lovely surprise I got today. I received a very lovely award from Jane my friend and colleague. She is such a talented lady and so lovely and helpful. Without her encouragement and help I would not enjoy my crafting as much as I do, thank you so much Jane
And not only this but Jane has also a Celebration Blog Candy on her blog, you might want to hop over! Petra.

Digital "Wizadry"

There are so many brilliant people out there who are so creative with using all those applications designed to do/help with processing images digitally. I have not really engaged with such processes so far nor have I the necessary tools installed on my computer (like Photoshop). But inspired by the work of the Crafters Kitchen, Cathy from Cathy Michaels Design and all the Brag Monday projects shown on The Graphics Fairy blog I thought I give it a go and create something which is clean and uncluttered with maybe one or two eye-catching features. Guess what happened

It got completely out of hands, and I went completely over the top.
I downloaded the chandelier sheet from Crafters Kitchen and the lovely clip art from Karen, The Graphics Fairy and merged the two. Then I embedded the new image within a background I also found at the Crafters Kitchen. I just used OpenOffice Text for this operation.
Having created this basic layout the plan was to attach it to white card and use one of the Graphics Fairy's shoes with a bit of bling as embellishment. But then I saw this little tiny bit of lace on my workdesk and this was the start of something quite different :-)

Supplies:
square white card
paper - Crafters Kitchen, American Crafts, plain white card
images - Crafter's Kitchen, The Graphics Fairy
lace, ribbon - found in my stash
flowers - Artemisio
bling - Artemisio, Kanban
pearls - from a bag of bargain ribbons :-)

Petra.

Digi Santa & Cupcake Craft Challenge

I needed a very quick and easy Christmas card and to use a digital stamp was just very tempting because the printed and cut-out digital image of the Santa had already been lurking in one of my papercraft boxes for a while. So by keeping it simple the card was ready to be used and to be submitted for this week's Cupcake Craft Challenge in no time

Supplies:
card - tree shaped card from Papermania
paper - plain white and red card
digital stamp - DAISIE Company
sentiment stamp - Dulcie Jackson (Quick Cards)
ink - VersaColour
colouring - Sakura, Koh-i-noor
blings - Kanban
glitter - LOTS from my stash
punches - Woodware, Nestabilities
embossing folder - Cuttlebug 'Snowflakes'

As the card had already the shape of the tree all I had to do was to emboss the white card, attach the blings, colour the Santa and give him lots of glitter, created and attached the sentiment and the star embellishment for the top and that was it - well, not quite.
It is always a bit difficult to write on red card so I slightly changed the inside by inserting white card and giving it a little star as decoration.

The digital Santa is a free digital stamp from the DAISIE Company. At the moment they offer a Christmas freebie with very cute and charming digital stamps.
Petra.
