Lunagirl - Blue Christmas

Christmas seems to be approaching with big steps ... and I cannot wait to celebrate this wonderful time with family and friends. Jane decorated our office today with a little Christmas tree, I put up some sparkly stars and a delightful banner made by Jane. The office looks so much more homely and welcoming. The little banner I created for Lunagirl Moonbeams new challenge: Blue Christmas will also find its way into our office tomorrow.  It was inspired by one of Nancy's projects, thank you so much for the inspiration.
The delightful images are from Lunagirl's Blue Christmas collage sheet
layered on musical note paper from Kaisercraft
The banner pages are die-cut from K&Company paper
and adorned with vintage buttons, little bows and glittery die-cut holly leaves.

You will find great inspiration for the challenge on the Lunagirl Moonbeams blog, hope you can join us.

Lunagirl - Autumn Girl

This morning Autumn was definitely in the air, for the first time this year it was foggy and the visibility was very poor. Very slowly the colours in the garden also start to turn into these wonderfully rich and vibrant Autumn colours ... I so love this time of the year. Lunagirl's new challenge is all about this season: Autumn
The card base is covered with BoBunny paper.
All images (Autumn Girl and leaves) are from Lunagirl Moonbeam,
the beautiful girl image is layered on die-cut 7Gypsies paper and sligthly distressed around the edges.
The leaves are cut out, resin flowers are the only embellishments.

Please do hop over to Lunagirl's blog. You will find fabulous inspiration and all the details for the current challenge, hope you can join us! Petra.

Lunagirl - Seed Packs Vintage Gardening

It is this time of the year when the air very much starts to feel like Autumn, fruits and vegetables are ready to be harvested and seeds to be collected. A perfect time for Lunagirl Moonbeams new challenge: Seed Packs Vintage Gardening
I made various seed packs to hold seeds from the garden
using a seed pack template which I printed, cut out and inked with distress ink.
The packs are decorated with Lunagirl images from collage sheets: Summertime Seed Packs and Vintage adverts: Seeds and Plants. They are layered on Kraft ribbon and each one is embellished with button twine and a little charm. To each pack I added a little label of how to sow and when to harvest the vegateables. Perfect for my seeds!
Hope you can join us for the challenge, Petra.

Inspiration Avenue - Postcard

Gosh, I don't know where time goes at the moment ... I noticed that I haven't taken part in the Inspiration Avenue challenge for AGES! But this time I could not let the challenge pass because I love postcards and I am just working on a little set of digital postcards (lol) This is number 3, you can find the first two here ...
I know it is not Spring anymore but it is lovely to work with Spring flowers and a little birdie hiding behind ....
Most of the images I used are from Lunagirl Moonbeam's wonderful collage sheets,
the lace is from Martora.

Have a lovely evening, Petra.

Seclusion

for the Inspiration Avenue challenge: to share a picture of a doorway or window and tell us what you think it happening behind that structure. A doorway in tranquil Tonder, Denmark ... serene and timeless ... no opening ... seclusion
Wishing you a lovely afternoon and evening, Petra.

Rocking Horse

Elizabeth and Shelly as first co-hosts for the Inspiration Avenue have chosen: Rocking Horses for the current challenge. What fun ... I love rocking horses, we have one at home although only a little one! I am not quite sure how old it is ... A friend gave it to my children when they were quite small, and it had already been restored. Since then the little horse has been enjoyed not only by my children but by our grandson and many other little ones ... lots of memories sweet ones and some 'accidental' ones when the horse went wild at times (lol)
And from time to time it enjoys some fresh air and sunshine. Have a lovely weekend, Petra.

Paper Doll of a Different Kind

The Inspiration Avenue challenge is/was: turning Paper Dolls into a piece of art whereby the doll doesn't need to be a human figure .... may I introduce you to Mr Ratu

Mr Ratu, a very cool rat, is based on a children's book by Nancy Zimmermann. You can also find the instructions including the drawings on the website. Mr Ratu is articulated and can move

because he is a sort of Jumping Jack doll. Mr Ratu also has a very defined dress sense

The only bit which is now missing is a little hanger ... Petra.

Keys

Keys is the current challenge at Inspiration Avenue hosted by the ever so talented Hettienne from Her Grace: to use a key or keys or the metaphor of a key in your creations. This theme offers so many choices and possibilities, so it was time to make a decision (lol)
This is a very simple and surprisingly quick tag. I absolutely enjoyed the process of using various techniques: first I coloured and patterend the background of a plain Manila tag with a That Special Touch mask and distress inks. I had already printed a key definition from the web which I gessoed and transferred to the tag. And then it is all in rubbing it down gently but firm and allow the paper to dry. With a little bit of water I rubbed off the paper to disclose the script but left some paper so that some areas are a bit obscured - an effect I quite like
The last steps were to stamp the music key (stamp: 7Gypsies) with Coffee Archival ink onto the tag and to attach a bit of leftover twine. Petra.

A Blooming Great Tea Party

It's Tea Time! - this is the current Inspiration Avenue challenge but this is also what we thoroughly enjoyed at work this afternoon - I had organised a tea party for a good cause: Marie Curie Cancer Care and their Blooming Great Tea Party campaign. Lots of colleagues helped to make this event a success and everybody had a great time. I had baked all the cakes - lots of them and they were all gone! Enjoy the weekend, Petra. x

Bake!

This is a challenge by Inspiration Avenue I definitely could not resist (lol) ... strawberries are on the menu at the moment. They are wonderfully sweet and juicy ... and with a little dollop of whipped cream irresistible ... have a great weekend, Petra.
