Tag Tuesday - Travel

Two friends on the way to explore Hadrian's Wall ... a Roman defensive fortification in Britain. It stretches from Bowness-on-Solway on the West coast of Northern England to Ravenglass/Newcastle upon Tyne on the East coast ... 135km in total. In June two friends hit the trail to follow the tracks of the Romans from the West to the East coast of Northern England. A little parcel with a little tag helped them along ... that's what I think anyway (lol)
dry-embossed and inked Krafttag
layered with torn road atlas pages and some jute band
embellished with felt flowers, half-pearls and butterflies
and Dovecraft walking boots.

Enjoy your evening, Petra.

Tag Tuesday - Roaring Twenties

Oh dear, I am a bit behind ... but only by a couple of days (lol). Last week's challenge at Tag Tuesday was: Roaring Twenties. I love this time with its twists, novelties, the glamour, the daring styles ....
My tag started life as paint left-over in very pale pink and nougat

I cut a tag and covered it with crunched tissue paper. The crinkles were slightly inked with Victorian Velvet distress ink and stamped on it with Archival Coffee ink (all stamps from Artistic Outpost, lend by Lucy - thank you so much!)
Once the base was created I embellished the tag with lace, pearls, ribbon, paper flower, pins and everything a sophisticated and stylish Lady would naturally need (lol)
Have a lovely evening, Petra.

Lunagirl - Digital Playtime

While working on my tag with the digital background, I just couldn't help myself to play with the wonderful digital carte postale background image from Lunagirl. It is such a shame to use just one, so I used most of the postcard images from the Carte Postale 2 collage sheet
and created a new background for some digital art ...
for both projects I used images from Lunagirl Victorian Butterfly Collage Sheet
and the adorable rose girl is part of a Free Digital Collage Sheet
Backgrounds and images from Lunagirl just work so well together, they complement each other perfectly in style and colour. It is so much fun to create printable digital art ... postcards, in a frame, ready to be embellished, .........

If you are tempted to play, Lunagirl has quite a few free images on her blog. And if you need help finding digital backgrounds, please visit the digital backgrounds category at Lunagirl.com, where all these will be ON SALE for over 40% off throughout the digital background challenge!

Enjoy the Summer, stay cool and have a lovely weekend, Petra.

Lunagirl - Digital Backgrounds

The new challenge over at Lunagirl Moonbeam has started, it is all about digital backgrounds. I find digital paper ever so useful ... you never run out, you can always reprint it, you can cut it to any shape and size, you can combine it with other digital images, you can stmp on it, ..... the possibilities are endless.
My project for the challenge uses the digital background as it is and tried to keep the project quite simple ....
..... to show off the wonderful Carte Postale background from Lunagirl's Carte Postale 2 collage sheet.
I combined it with stamping (postal stamp from Hero Arts) and
added a lovely image from the same collage sheet
and one of the beautiful butterflies from the Rainbow Butterfly Wings collage sheet.
The little tag is embellished with some lace, a paper rose and some half-pearls.

For more amazing inspiration of how you can use digital backgrounds please visit the Lunagirl blog. And hopefully you can join us, Petra.

Cheerful Monday #21 - Sisters and Friends

This is my project for Vicki's second  challenge week: You make a lovely couple. I chose a lovely image from Twisted Papers for my tag
I love the image of these two Ladies,
it is layered on 7Gypsies papers
the edges around the image and the tag are machine-stitched and then slightly distressed
I stamped the sentiment (von Herzen = from the heart) with VersaMark ink,
heat-embossed it and added some Stickles
the tag is embellished with a little label, a vintage button
some silk seam binding and a couple of pins

It would be lovely if you have time to join us for the challenge,
keep cool wherever you are and have a lovely Summer, Petra.

Tag Tuesday - Italy

The current theme over at Tag Tuesday is: Italy ... what a wonderful theme! I like Italy a lot. I have been a couple of times in Tuscany and it is wonderful with the rich colours, the amazing landscape and brilliant food .... wish I would be there (sigh)
The design of the tag is really quite simple. I used as background a Gelliplate print which I created during a workshop with Andy Skinner (the workshop was brilliant!)
I stamped (all stamps are Crafty Individuals) the Travel words with VersaMark Watermark ink on the background and heat-embossed with WOW embossing powder (I used it for the first time and I am quite impressed by the quality of it)
I applied the same procedure to the square images using a different Gelliplate print
I cut the images in squares and mounted them with foam pads on the tag.
The tag is embellished with just a little paper flower and a little half-pearl.

Wishing you a lovely weekend, happy crafting, Petra.

This main image is one of the fabulous Lunagirl images, this one comes from the Vintage Women & Men CD .The background papers are from Graphics45.
I decided to use a dry-embossed clear vellum as front-cover
and embellished the card with Tim Holtz film strip, some blings and some staples.

If you are interested in these fabulous image CDs, they are on sale at least until Sunday, June 14.

Hope you can join us, wishing you a lovely evening, Petra.

Cheerful Monday #20 - You make a lovely couple

The new challenge at Vicki's blog is: You make a lovely couple. I love this theme, there are so many ways for interpretation. I chose a lovely image from Twisted Papers for my project, a little tag

The background of the tag was inspired by Sue Carrington for PaperArtsy.
I inked the background with various distress inks and added coloured GrungePaste (the very first time I used it ... and I love it ... but it needs a bit more practise!).
The caliso is coloured using various Fresco Paints and cut with pinking shears.
The stamped sentiment is from Waltzing Mouse,
the little flowers punched from cardboard and attached with brads.

Hope you can join us, Petra.

Lunagirl - The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby ... what a movie! I just love the fashion, the wonderful settings and such handsome men (lol) ... isn't the lady just so lucky?
The image comes from Lunagirl Vintage Lovers CD. The colours are gorgeous and worked perfectly with some papers I had hidden away for the perfect occasion (lol) I embellished the card with some bling, lace, organza roses, a little frame and feather.
Hope you enjoy the challenge and join us at Lunagirl! See you there, Petra.

Cheerful Monday #19 - It's Wimbledon Time

It is Wimbledon time, the oldest tennis tournament, it has been held in Wimbledon, London since 1877! Tennis is all over the papers, on TV and the radio. I don't play tennis but this Lady does! And she enjoys it too
a wonderful image fitting perfectly for the theme from Vintage Image Craft,
layered on Papermania patterend paper,
the background stamped with Rogue Redhead stamps
and some machine stitching around the edges
I embellished the card with some lace, button,
Mulberry flower, bling and a stamped sentiment from Waltzingmouse.

This is for Vicki's challenge: From the Past. Hope you can join us for the challenge!
Petra.
