Cheerful Monday #37 - Moon Angel

I so adore this angel image from the Graphics Fairy, it is so darling with its wings leaning against the Moon

 

For the background I tea-dyed a manila tag and stamped it with a musical note stamp from Impression Obsession and distress ink Tea Dye. I added a doily, some gold ribbon and little blings. And added some sparkle to the wings with Gold Stickles.

Photo Session #3 - German Easter Market

The weather in Germany was fabulous last week with lots of sunshine and sitting outside having coffee ... well, these were the days ... we are now back in the UK and the weather has now really turned very cold and windy (sigh). The Easter Market was an interesting experience. I learned a lot about the different approach to markets and crafty goods between England and Germany and I met some lovely crafty people. It was a pleasure to talk to them and exchange experiences. Here are some images of the event

Vintage Paris

... a challenge of a postcard and lots of wishful thinking ... sigh .... wish I could have been there!

I created the background using mainly images from the Graphics Fairy, the lovely Lady is from e-vint.com. I added some swirly stamping with Artemio stamps and a little lace and some pearls. Have a lovely weekend, Petra.

Vintage Happy Birthday Tag

A little vintage tag for Vicki's new Cheerful Stamp Pad challenge: Tags - the interpretation is yours .... a little tag, a big tag, a tag book, ..... endless possibilities

 

I cut the tag base from Jenny Bowlin paper, stamped musical notes on the paper (Impression Obsession) and embossed it and double-machine stitched around the edges of the tag. The focal point of the tag is an adorable little bird image from the Graphics Fairy. I embellished the tag with lace, a die-cut metal border, some ribbon and a little stamped sentiment tag (Lili of the Valley).

Spring Flowers

I haven't made a tag for Tag Tuesday for AGES ... but with the theme being Spring Flowers this week I just had to

 

The base of the tag is some gorgeous flowery wrapping paper which I found in one of my drawers when tidying up (sometimes tidying up is useful (lol)). I stamped it with a Prima Marketing stamp and distress ink 'Peeled' Paint' and machine-stitched around the edges.  The base is layered with some lace, the little Spring label also from the wrapping paper stitched on some fabric and a gorgeous little image from the Graphics Fairy.

The final touches are a little Stickles glitter and a cloth ribbon which I stamped with the same Prima Marketing stamp - Petra.

Chunky Easter ATC Box

For the current Cheerful Stamp Pad challenge 'anything goes' .... Recently I saw some fabulous chunky ATCs and I knew that I wanted to make some. With Easter just around the corner I needed some little boxes for some Easter treats - why not combine chunky ATC and Easter treats? This is the template I created for the Chunky ATC Box, please feel free to use it

  

As base for the box I used Kraft Card which I covered with EchoPark papers,

 decorated it with a bunny image from the Graphics Fairy, fabric flowers, some pearls, stamped images and sentiment from Waltzing Mouse and a little wooden Lady Bird ......

 ..... and filled it with some lovely chocolatey Lady Birds! Petra.

Vintage Little Darling

The theme at Tag Tuesday is: Vintage. I know it is weird but I was not sure at all how to approach it ... that is till I looked at my crochet flowers and then it all became clear (lol): a small crochet tag (8x4cm) which I attached to a very small coat hanger from Woodware. I stitched a little piece of packaging material onto the crochet base
and then decorated the tag with a really sweet image of a little girl all wrapped up to face the cold weather outside (Graphics Fairy)
Some lace and gauze, little pearls stitched on fabric, paper flowers and vintage buttons and a printed word completed the little tag. Have a lovely weekend, Petra.

Birds of a Feather

If I would have the time, I could sit all day long and watch the birds outside my kitchen window which come to pick some bird seeds. These are mainly the blue tits, starlings, sparrows, black birds and occasionally a little robin ....

Thankful

This is my first Thanksgiving creation and it centres around the pumpkin ... I love pumpkins and it was a good year for growing them! My card is based on a sketch from here
and it worked very well with the elements I had prepared for the card

Bees and Beehive

For the second week of Vicki's 'Let's Reuse' challenge I paid tribute to the bees in our garden which are so busy collecting the pollen for the wonderful honey

Something I made & Wonderful News

Since the beginning of July I have been taken part in Natalea's photo challenge: July 2011 in Photos. The photos submitted are so amazing and awesome and utterly interesting. I very much enjoy being part of the group although I struggle at the moment with taking photos ... my little camera is slowing dying on me and me not being too good in taking photos (lol) But I have already learned a lot about colours, perspectives, angles, .... For today the challenge topic is: Something I made. I tackled a project which has been on my list for a long time, a lavender sachet

It was a very enjoyable project, the idea behind it to make it look like these little matchbooks. To create the matchbook I used Tilda papers with doublesided patterns and tracing paper for the sachet holding the lavender which is the first one from the garden this year! The lavender image is from Karen, the Graphics Fairy. As soon as I saw it on Karen's blog I knew I wanted to do include it in this project. The finishing touches are some seambinding and fresh lavender. I thought I might be able to sneak in some stamping but decided I am quite happy with the project as it is.

And now to the wonderful news ... I am 'La Creme du Bella' this week at Bella Creations - how amazing is this?????? I still cannot believe it but ... it seems to be true. Thank you so much for this honour, I am so proud of this.

Keep Calm and Carry On Shopping

The Ladies from the Order of the Opus Gluei challenged us this week to show them some girl things ... well, shopping is quite girlie, or not? (lol)

To create the shopping tag I modified a 'Keep Calm ...' image from the Graphics Fairy - changed the background colour, replaced the two last lines and exchanged the crwon with a handbag which I found on the web. After printing the image I layered it on newspaper. The back of the tag is a Digi stamp from MFT coloured with Copics and layered on green card and newspaper. The finishing touch is some coloured raffia. Enjoy your weekend, Petra.

It's Strawberry Time!

This year the strawberry season started extremely early here in England because of the fantastic weather we've had over the last weeks. And they are sooo tasty, I simply love the taste of fresh strawberries ... especially with Vanilla icecream or whipped cream or as strawberry cake or dipped in chocolate or ... what is your favourite way to enjoy them?
Rebecca's challenge for Tag Tuesday couldn't have been much better: Strawberry!
I started this tag with making my own background by stamping Whiff of Joy strawberries onto Kraftcard and colouring them with Koh-i-noors. The edge of the tag has been punched with a Stampin'Up edge punch
For the middle part of the tag I created a digital collage with paper from Martora, a strawberry plant image from The Sum of all Crafts and the Menu label from the Graphics Fairy. Top and bottom part of the image are embellished with button twine for the Ribbon Girl, some ribbon and a little button from my stash.
The little topper on the tag is a layering of Kraftcard, Martora paper (slightly distressed around the edges) and a stamped icecream cone from Elzybells topped with a strawberry from the Graphics Fairy. The image is coloured with copics and Koh-i-noors. The finishing touches for the topper are a bit of button twine and a Whiff of Joy sentiment on mini labels.
To finish off the tag and because there can never be too many strawberries (lol) I shrank and coloured three Whiff of Joy strawberries using shrink plastic and copics.

Paperdoll Cowboy

Do you like it a bit wild with horses, cowboys, cowgirls, saloons and everything? Then pop over to Gingersnap Creations: May is the WildWest month. The first challenge is the Chestnut Theme challenge: Cowboys and Cowgirls. For me it had to be a cowboy and a special one ... one which you can dress: a paperdoll cowboy from Karen, the Graphics Fairy (lol)

Still Growing

I haven't made an ATC for ages. It was quite difficult to get back into the swing of things (lol). The Bella Creations Oh La La group was provided with two images by Gecko Galz , a background image and the image of a child in a clown outfit. The task was to create an ATC
I turned the background upside down and printed the words on it. The image has been flipped horizontally and cut out. The clowns shoes are from the web and the top hat from the Graphics Fairy. The ruler stamp is from Hero Arts. Petra.

Postcard Tag

It's all about postcards over at Tag Tuesday - use postcard(s), use the word postcard, .....
The background for this tag is a postcard image from the Graphics Fairy. I cut it into tag shape, distressed the edge with Tea dye distress ink, stamped text from Sugar and Spice on to the postcard in chocolate brown, a stamp and a postmark (stamp from Eline Pellinkhof) completed the postcard. The recipient of the postcard is a little boy sitting on a mushroom surrounded by some leafy environment (leaf stamp from Lavinia).
The mushroom stamp is a silicone stamp from La Blanche ... the first time ever I used a silicone stamp and I am very happy with it. It stamps very well and is easy to clean.
To finish it I used some dark brown string. Have a good week, Petra.

Carrots Are Good For Your Eyes!

This bookmark came about when I tried to figure out what to do with the Gecko Galz image for the February Bookmark challenge over at Bella Creations and my DH coming home telling me that the optician recommended to eat more dark green vegetables to improve his eyes. Now, I only know about carrots being good for your eyes (lol) .......
Now off to make the bookmark for the bookmark challenge ... the scheme is either Valentine's Day or Chinese New Year (lol), will show you when it is finished. Petra.

Coffee and Cream

Having been in Germany for a few days I lost a bit of touch with blogland and need to do some catching up (lol) ... let's start with having some coffee and cream - the colours of the Gingersnap Creations colour challenge

This is the last day of 2010. It was tremendously difficult in parts but also full of miracles and adventures. I made so many new friends giving me the opportunity to explore endless possibilities, and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate each single one of you
