Lunagirl - Secrets and Hidden Things

The new challenge at Lunagirl Moonbeams is all about secret and hidden things. With Christmas not so very far off (where is the time gone?) I made two little treasure boxes
I simply covered the boxes in patterend paper (Craftworks Cards),

covered the sides of the lid with ribbon and lace

and decorated the top with adorable Christmas girls from Lunagirl Moonbeams,
bows, half-pearls, charm and paper flowers.
For more fabulous secret and hidden art treasures and to join the challenge, please do visit Karen's blog Lunagirl Moonbeams! Petra.

Easter Baskets

I am still in Easter mode making the last cards and boxes for Easter treats. For the 'Anything Goes' challenge at the Cheerful Stampd Pad I created some egg-shaped Easter baskets
Supplies: white card, Waltzing Mouse stamps and Nestabilities

If you would like to know how I made these baskets, here is how it goes:
First stamp the egg patterns on white card choosing any ink and colour you like (I used distress inks). Cut the egg image with the egg-shaped Nestabilities. I also used a smalled Nestabilities shape to cut out the handles - this will give some more little eggs you can use for further decorations (lol)
This is now a good time to decorate the egg shapes to your heart's content. I just added a sentiment (Waltzing Mouse stamp).
Naturally you need two egg shapes and one paper strip for the basket. I cut 5.5cm x 15cm paper strips in matching colours. I folded each long side of the paper strip (width: 0.75cm) and made little cuts into the sides so that the paper strips would take smoothly the shape of the eggs. The more cuts you make, the smoother will be the shaping of the strip.
Take two egg shapes and a paper strip and glue them together with tacky glue
All what is now left is filling the basket (lol), Petra.

Chunky Easter ATC Box

For the current Cheerful Stamp Pad challenge 'anything goes' .... Recently I saw some fabulous chunky ATCs and I knew that I wanted to make some. With Easter just around the corner I needed some little boxes for some Easter treats - why not combine chunky ATC and Easter treats? This is the template I created for the Chunky ATC Box, please feel free to use it

As base for the box I used Kraft Card which I covered with EchoPark papers,
decorated it with a bunny image from the Graphics Fairy, fabric flowers, some pearls, stamped images and sentiment from Waltzing Mouse and a little wooden Lady Bird ......
..... and filled it with some lovely chocolatey Lady Birds! Petra.

A Ginger Gentleman

No, no tag this time but a Ginger Gentleman for the Art 'n' Soul swap. Viv has always the most awesome ideas .... this time she asked us to alter a matchbox:
ALTER A MATCHBOX and PUT A TINY SURPRISE FOR YOUR SWAP PARTNER INSIDE
... did I already mention that I love boxes? (lol)
It is Christmas time and to get in a christmasey mood it is absolutely essential to have some gingerbread at this time of the year ... at least it is for me! Here he comes all dressed up and ready to go out
with papers from October Afternoon, self-adhesive lace, gingerbread stamps from Betty's Creations and Elzybells, ribbon and little bell from my stash and, of course, some glittery accessories.
Oh, and in case you wonder what is in the matchbox ... well, this is a surprise and another post (lol). Have a great weekend, Petra.

Yummy Halloween Treats

I am not so much a Halloween person but I love cupcakes. They are so much fun! And Halloween seemed to be a good occasion to bake and decorate some cupcakes in true Halloween style. I baked 60 cupcakes with four different sponges (vanilla, chocolate, lsemon and roed velvet) and in a vahriety of disgcuises. For transport I chose sturdy plain white cupcake boxes which I gave a bit of an uplift:

The letters are from the Sizzix Alphabet 'Notepad', the stamps the Elzybells clear stamp set 'Mini Messages - Happy Haunting', ink from Heine.

And inside? Well, have a look ..........

Here are the plain contenders waiting to be decorated

Decorating cupcakes is always really good fun. I mixed three different types of topping: vanilla buttercream, cream cheese topping and lemon buttercream. I like the lemon ones best, they have a real tangy taste.

I wish I could let you have a bite :-) Happy trick&treat, Petra.

Milk Carton

Ever since I have seen the milk carton from Pam on the Elzybells blog I wanted to give it a go. Pam, thank you for the template, it is so nice and lovely as box for a little present. (a similar one is on the Mirkwood template page)
To work out how to do it best it took a little bit of thinking, tweaking and tuning. As I wanted to make one as birthday present I first made a prototype and learning from all mistakes, I then gave it a second go:

In a way I like both, they are perfect as box for some very nice yummy butter biscuits :-) And I will definitely make some more. Petra.
