Silver and Gold - Black and White .....

.... The Play Date Cafe challenge. Oh dear, this took me way out of my comfort zone, I normally don't use silver and gold very often only maybe some glitter as accents

Supplies:

textured square white card
papers - plain white and black paper, patterend paper (cannot remember where I got it from)
stamp - Elzybells, Stampington Company
ink - Artemio, Elzybells
blings - Artemio

I love the little town stamp. I used it before with patterend paper but it looks just as good on just white card. A lot of fuzzy cutting was involved to layer the houses to get some depth.
When stamping the sentiments, I realized that the ink would not cover the embossed areas on the paper which gave a lovely effect - not intentionally, though (lol).

Lady in Pink

When looking for a pink graphics, I came across this beautiful Lady
At first I was only intrigued by the colour of the image but after printing the image in a quite big format and then experimenting with various cut outs, her eyes became the focal point turning a beautiful Lady into more of a mystery

and this is how I used it for my card. The colour combination of the card is based on a Sketchy Colors challenge: yellow, pink and a little bit of bronze. It just seems to fit so perfectly.

This Lady is definitely worth a little bit more of exploration.

Baby Challenges

A Baby card is the them of the current Cupcake Craft Challenges and Docrafts Inspirational challenge is almost all about dots and spots and as I need lots of baby cards quite soon what better way to start the challenge and cardmaking season with a first baby card

Lots of spots and dots. The main colour theme is blue because I already know that at least one of the babies will be a baby boy (lol).

Art 'n' Soul - Circle Book

Last year I was invited by Art 'n' Soul to participate in their challenge group. Their projects are just amazing and very appealing. This is the very first project I take part in: to create a Circle Book - scary and exciting at the same time. The instructions were provided by Viv (she creates the most amazing items).
The only thing I had to do was to decide on a theme and then follow the instructions - how difficult could this be ........... (lol) ...... it was VERY difficult!

Front Cover

The book consists of four pages. It will open up into a circle once the bow has been undone. The ribbons are held in place by staples, ricrac ribbon sits between the pages just peering over the edges. And throughout the book you will find a lot of distressing of the edges of the pages and the embellishments.

Summer: the joy of summer holidays and travel happiness

Autumn: Halloween, lots of pumpkins and Thanksgiving

Snowy World

You might have seen enough snow already. For me this is still a real wonder, it is the most snow I have ever seen in England since I moved here about 13 years ago.

I know it causes disruption and problems for lots of people but for me snow is something special. Already seeing the first snowflakes gently falling from the sky is exciting - and soothing at the same time. The world becomes transformed. Everything looks and feels different - much quieter and somehow magical.
Enjoy the snowy moments with hopefully only little tiny upsets, Petra.

Turquoise - Brown - Dusty Pink and a big thank you

A wonderful colour combination as start to the New Year at the Play Date Cafe challenge
and thank you so much to the Play Date Cafe team for selecting me in challenge #9 as one of the fab4. This is very special to me.

And this is my entry for challenge #10 - an ATC - just the right size to use some of those scraps I accumulated last year :-)

papers - white plain card, BasicGrey, Cratepaper, some papoer from my stasmh

The colours reminded me immediately of some papers I have had for quite a while. It also gave me the chance to use Alison's digi stamp again. I just love this sweet little elephant. This time I turned it into a couple by flipping the image to create the lady as mirror image. I printed the images directly onto the paper and cut them out. Don't they look cute together?
As I had not enough paper to make it A4 (this is what my printer wants) I tricked the printer. I chose a scrap big enough for the image, attached it to a 80g white A4 paper using 'stick it' scrapbooking tape. It was the first time I did this and it worked a treat. The printing went perfectly fine and it was no problem to remove the scrap from the A4 paper.

The little twirly hearts are the result of some 'fuzzy cutting'.

Fabric Covered Buttons

This is my very first post this year. I can hardly believe it myself but I haven't had any telephone and Internet connection since last Thursday! And I must say this felt quite strange like being on an isolated island :-) Now I am back online and I would like to wish you all a very happy New Year and happy crafting.

Right on top of the my list of things I want to do this year was covering buttons with fabric - not just any fabric but fabric with printed/transferred images. I bought some transfer paper and used some wonderful graphics from The Graphics Fairy and one of my own photos - just to see how it would work


Supplies:
images - The Graphics Fairy, me
paper - T-Shirt Transfer paper from DECAdry
buttons - Prym cover buttons (in various sizes)
quickutz circles
iron, hard flat surface for ironing, printer

For printing I resized the photo and graphics and then printed the images onto the transfer paper. Cut out the printed image in the size you need and iron it onto the fabric. Then cut a circle which is large enough to cover the button surface and leaves enough for tucking it into the button inside. Close the button with the back plate.
I had to experiment a little bit to get it right, at the beginning the fabric was too thick and because I wanted the sides of the basic button to be covered by the image, the size of the cut image must be big enough. But once I've worked it out, it was really easy. And I like the result.
