Lace and Doily

Today's post is all about Lace and doilies. I created this little card for Crafting by Designs as guest designer. I feel very honoured to have had the chance to be part of the team for this challenge.
As focal point for my card I chose an image from Lunagirl Moonbeams Ornate Victorian Fabric Labels collage sheet and combined it with roses from the Victorian Butterfly Collage sheet
and combined it with patterend paper from Kaisercraft
some stamping (PaperArtsy)
and lace, doily and ribbon
You find more wonderful inspiration for the challenge at Crafting by Designs. I hope you can join us for this lovely challenge! Petra.

Little Miss Muffet - Sketch Challenge

It is the end of May (already, time seems to fly!) and the last Little Miss Muffett May challenge, a sketch challenge:
I love this sketch, it is so versatile and sets the image brilliantly as focal point. For my project I could not help but using Chester again, he is so adorable
This is Retro Chester with his cool headphones and retro cassette player! I coloured him entirely with colouring pencils and layered him on various patterned papers from EchoPark papers. The papers are attached with a little bit of machine-stitching.
The word is stamped using Memento ink and a stamp from Betty's Creations.
The stars are cut with Nestabilities dies and attached with staples.

This is my last blog post as guest designer for Little Miss Muffett. It was such wonderful fun and I enjoyed every minute of it. I will miss being part of the DT with all those talented Ladies and their inspiring creations. Pop over to Little Miss Muffett to see all the works of the DT.

Little Miss Muffett - Sunbonnet FlowerLady

Yippeeehhhh ....today is release day at Little Miss Muffett with new stamps from Jodie, from Bugaboo Stamps, who has designed some exclusive Sunbonnet Rubber Stamps for Little Miss Muffet Stamps ... the new images are super-cute, little sweet ladies and young gentlemen. The images are just perfect for Mother's and Father's Days, birthdays, ...... And, as if that wasn't enough, this week, we're also releasing a rather fabulous new Birds on a Wire Die too .... To celebrate all this exciting news, The Little Misses have joined forces with the Bugaboo Stamps Design Team for a fun Blog Hop and there are prizes, too.

For my project I could not resist to choose the little sunbonnet flower lady for a Mother's Day card .. she is just sooo sweet
Layers of October Afternoon patterend papers
punched scalloped edges and little pearls
the sentiment is stamped (stamps: Kartenkunst)
I coloured the image with distress markers,
cut it out and added it with foam pads to oval Nestabilities die cut shapes,
little pearls make the centre of the flowers
Satin ribbon and a little fabric flower from Prima Marketing are the finishing touches.

Now, when you read all of this, you should have arrived safely at my blog coming from Peggy. Don't hesitate and hop on to the next amazing inspiration from Sammibug. The Blog Hop will close at 8pm, Central time on Sunday 26 May.

Enjoy the hop and have a lovely day, Petra.

Little Miss Muffett - Kraft, White and Red

One of my favourite colour combinations: Kraft, Red and White as colour challenge over at the Little Miss Muffett blog ... and it had to be a red telephone!

Call Me Chester colouring with colouring pencils is having a little chat
while sitting on foam pads in a die-cut circle (lol)
The card base is Kraft card partly embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.
The patterend papers are left-overs from previous projects: Bazill Basics card, EchoPark and October Afternoon papers.
The stamped sentiment is from Kartenkunst.
And the finishing touches are some button twine and a dotty-spotty button.

Hope you can join us for the challenge, Petra.

Little Miss Muffett - PaperPiecing

What a challenge at Little Miss Muffett ... right up my nose! I love paper-piecing ... more than colouring the image. And what could be lovelier than dressing a lovely elegant Lady in a new Spring outfit? Miss Cora Agnes Hatter all dressed up in pastels
The image is from Little Miss Muffett.
I used two different co-ordinating digital papers from Clementine for the paper-piecing,
and because of this I was also able to play with the size of the paper pattern ...

The background paper I used on the card is quite large
while the one for the dress I down-sized that is I changed the proportions.
It was the first time I did it like this and it was great fun.
I layered it all on Bazill coloured card following a sketch from Sketch N Stash
I added some seam binding and a little flower as embellishment.

Hope you can join in the challenge, have a lovely day, Petra.

Little Miss Muffet ... she sat on a tuffett ....

... eating of curds and whey; There came a great spider who sat down beside her and frightened Miss Muffett away .... I just had to use the new images from Little Miss Muffett and create a little hanging scene based on the Little Miss Muffett rhyme ...

The tree frame is a Memory Box die,
I die-cut various layers of corrugated card and My Mind's Eye Paper
which are glued together to give the scene some depth
I backed it with some more My Mind's Eye Paper
To create the little scene I used lots of Little Miss Muffett stamps
coloured the images with copics and colouring pencils
and cut them out

This was great fun, to see more amazing creations with the new images just hop over to Little Miss Muffett.
Wishing you a lovely day, Petra.

Little Miss Muffett Tea Party - Birthday with Flowers and Presents

A little project for the new inspiration post at Little Miss Muffet using quite a few of the new Tea Party Release images. It is so much fun to mix and match the new images and turn them into a new image or a little scene
EchoPark patterend paper layered on a white square card
the frame is cut with a Nestabilities rectangular die
and adorned with satin ribbon
the image is coloured with various distress inks
and embellished with half pearls
to give the image more depth I printed it three times,
cut out the various elements and layered them

LMM #1 - Boys Only

The new Little Miss Muffet challenge has now gone live, the theme: Boys Only. I can hear various uh's, ah;s, oh's  (lol) .... one of my first reactions when I learned about the challenge theme. It just does not seem to be so easy to create a piece for boys ... this is my guest design piece
May I introduce you to Alex, one of the Van Family Brothers from Little Miss Muffet coloured with Copics and colouring pencils ... I think he is quite cool in his t-shirt and jeans! The base for the card is a Kraft card layered with Echo Park patterned pape.
I created the brick wall background with an inky brick embvossing folder and distress ink 'walnut stain'. After the embossing I swiped Versamagic 'red brick' ink over the raised parts of the paper ... I was surprised how real it looks. If you think you can use this in your work, please feel free to use the image.
little tuckered stars, stamped sentiment from Betty's Creations
the skull stickled with 'black diamond'
little add-ons with twine, pearl and staples

You find even more inspiration for Boys Only projects at the Little Miss Muffet blog, come and join in the fun, Petra.

Home Sweet Home

CherylAnn from 'Try Stampin' on Tuesday' asked me last week whether I would like to be guest designer for this week's challenge ... I was surprised, excited and honoured and what else could I say than yes! The sketch for this week's challenge is a sketch with endless possibilities .....
It was perfect to create a card for my brother and his family as he will be moving house very soon
All patterned papers are from Jillibean Soup - the sweet ribbon and button thread from the Ribbon Girl - charm, button, flower, blings and pearl from my stash - the sentiment stamp from Eline Pellinkhof, the houses from Hero Arts.
Why not pop over and join the fun? Petra.
