LMM #1 - Boys Only

The new Little Miss Muffet challenge has now gone live, the theme: Boys Only. I can hear various uh's, ah;s, oh's  (lol) .... one of my first reactions when I learned about the challenge theme. It just does not seem to be so easy to create a piece for boys ... this is my guest design piece
May I introduce you to Alex, one of the Van Family Brothers from Little Miss Muffet coloured with Copics and colouring pencils ... I think he is quite cool in his t-shirt and jeans! The base for the card is a Kraft card layered with Echo Park patterned pape.
I created the brick wall background with an inky brick embvossing folder and distress ink 'walnut stain'. After the embossing I swiped Versamagic 'red brick' ink over the raised parts of the paper ... I was surprised how real it looks. If you think you can use this in your work, please feel free to use the image.
little tuckered stars, stamped sentiment from Betty's Creations
the skull stickled with 'black diamond'
little add-ons with twine, pearl and staples

You find even more inspiration for Boys Only projects at the Little Miss Muffet blog, come and join in the fun, Petra.

Sharing

I want to share with you one truly wonderful postcard I received from Jeanie, it was such a surprise and I love just everything about it - especially the writing on the front - thank you so much Jeanie.

A while ago my daughter gave me a little pile of old postcards which I am in the process of scanning. I thought you might like to use them in your art. Here is the first one (front and back) - have a lovely day, Petra.

Steampunk Alfie and Happy News

I cannot wait  have to tell you the happy news first ... I am being featured on the Art with no Boundaries web page with a little tag of mine ...  and I won at Frilly and Funkie and have to go shopping now ... this is a real hardship, there is so much choice!!!!

And now, ta-da, may I introduce you to Alfie and his light bulbs? Without Alfie we might still sit in the dark (lol)
Alfie comes from the Octopode Factory and was coloured by me using Copics, colouring pencils and some Stickles. I cut out Alfie and layered him on an inked, misted and stamped (Paper Artsy) background and added some star stickers for a bit more sparkle
(please feel free to use this background image in your art)

Alfie is joined by some light and bulb images from the web. The lowest layer of the tag is some paper from K&Company accompanied by eyelets, strings and a little Christmas bauble. Have a lovely week, Petra.

Mother's Day

It is a wonderful sunny day here in the South of England, the birds are twittering and the bees are humming and looking for something sweet ..... I would like to share with you a lovely image I found in a box amongst some vintage postcards - she is so beautiful
Happy Mother's Day!Petra.

Valentine's Day

A Valentine's Day with roses, paper doily and a beautiful lady
The tag is created around a 'mixed media' photo which I took after my daughter's wedding using some of the roses which were part of the table decoration. I stamped the image of the lady on PrimaMarketing patterned paper (stamp: LaBlanche) and decorated the stamped paper with the roses
(feel free to use the image in your art, if you do I would LOVE to see your creation)

I printed the photo on shimmery cardstock and cut a circle from the image which is mounted on a doily cut from black embossed card. The tag is embellished with a pink rose ribbon. Petra.

Lace Tag

This is for Tag Tuesday, the last challenge for January was: Lace .... I can hardly believe that we are already in February .... my tag is built around a wonderful image from ms. bailey - a beautiful lady wearing an amazing dress
I could not find any patterend papers which would have really worked with the colour of the dress so for the paper layer underneath the image and lace I scanned the cover of one of my old crochet books (beginning 1900) - and please feel free to use the image in your art
and for the second paper layer and the back of the tag I used the lady's skirt
I really like this paperwith its colour and pattern. Lots of lace as embellishment, a fabric flower and some bling and glitter. Petra.
