DeClutter Give-away 1 - Magazine/Book

It has to be! The de-cluttering has started, very slowly but steadily I am in the process of going through heaps of magazines and books .... I have toooo many of them and seem to run out of space! But I just cannot throw them away, so I thought maybe somebody would like to have one or the other. Here are the first two
If you are interested and enjoy knitting and/or sewing sweet soft toys, then you might like this very nice magazine with lovely patterns.
This is a fabulous book with fun ideas, giving ample ideas of what to do with your fabric scraps.

If you are interested in the magazine or book, please just leave a comment. And please tell me which one you would like. They will come with some goodies. The draw for these two will be coming Wednesday.
Have a lovely weekend, Petra.

Lunagirl - Flowery Button Fairies

If only the sun would shine :-( Summer seems to have already passed without me noticing it! It is quite chilly  and also quite wet here at the moment .... my garden doesn't seem to mind, though. It all looks very lush and flowery and I couldn't resist to create some flowery button fairies with lovely images from Lunagirl Moonbeams combining images from  the Diva and Rainbow Butterfly Wings

musical note paper from Kaiserkraft, buttons, pearls
mulberry flowers, a little butterfly and a teeny tiny bling
doily, die-cut Kaiserkraft patterend paper, buttons
Mulberry flowers, Stickles and some blings

There is still time to join in with the Lunagirl Moonbeams challenge and lots of wonderful inspiration on the blog. Hope you can join us! Wishing you a lovely weekend, Petra.

Cheerful Monday #18 - From The Past

I am a bit late but here is my project for Vicki's new challenge ... I am sure you will love it: From The Past. I used a lovely image from this month's challenge sponsor 'Vintage Image Craft'
It shouted loudly at me to be used with fabric and lace and I just couldn't resist
The image is printed on white muslin and backed with some bondaweb and calico.
I layered lots of vintage lace and chiffon flower ribbon around the image,
mainly by hand-stitching to secure the layers.

To one of the corners I added the only bit of paper on this little fabric hanging,
a left-over piece of musical note doily (paper: Kaisercraft).
Otherwise the corners are decorated with lace flower, ribbon and buttons.
When I looked at my 'finished' piece I thought the sides needed a bit more doing
and ended up with a little bit of embroidery ... one French knot to each heart of the cream lace!

More fabulous projects are waiting for you at the Cheerful Stamp Pad, hope you can join us for the challenge! Petra.

Lunagirl - Garden Fairiy

Do you have fairies in your garden? Sometimes I think I can catch a glimpse of one in my garden enjoying the flowers and the sunshine ... I love fairies. So I was very happy about Karen's new challenge: Garden Fairies
I first created the tag with patterend paper from KaiserKraft and Authentique
and added it to a background created with stencils and distress inks
(Victorian Velvet, Spun Sugar, Fired Brick)
my Garden Fairy is from Lunagirl's wonderful Fly Away Home collage sheet
cut out and added to the tag with foam pads
The finishing touches are some organza ribbon, fabric flowers
and a little stamped sentiment from Flourishes

You find more lovely fairies on the Lunagirl blog, hope you can join us! Petra.

Cheerful Monday #17 - Sweet Monday

This is the second week of Vicki's challenge: You're Sweet ... just the right thing for the beginning of the week
The base of my card project is a scalloped white card
which I layered with a collage of tempting allsorts sweet treats from Far Far Hill
and I topped it with die-cut Bazill Basics card
and one of my favourite sentiment stamps from Impression Obsession
Ribbon, button, butterfly and some half-pearls finish off the project.

For more amazing inspiration just hop over to the Cheerful Stamp Pad blog. But be careful, you might want some of those treats (lol)

Photo Session #6 - Away From Home

Recently I have not been at home a lot, one reason why my crafting has come to a bit of a hold. At the beginning of the month I went up North to Hartlepool, Peter's home-town, with its endless sandy beaches. It was for a sad occasion, the funeral of Peter's uncle. It came very sudden ....

Last weekend then we went to Norway to celebrate the birthdays of two of our friends. Norway is a beautiful country with its clear blue sky and sea and the never-ending forests

Two occasions which could not be more different ... life is so precious.
Take care, Petra.

Lunagirl - Bathing Beauty

The new challenge over at Lunagirl Moonbeams has started: Bathing Beauties. I love this challenge, it makes me think of sunshine, holidays on the beach, swimming in the Sea and so much more ... I wish I could be there (sigh). My first project was inspired by a card from Heleen van Rees from Cards Only magazine
My beautiful bathing beauty image is from Karen's wonderful Bathing Beauties sheet.
The colours matched perfectly with my new Authentique papers (lol).
I distressed all paper layers with Black Soot distress ink.
As embellishments I added some buttons, a stamped postmark from Eline Pellinkhof, organza ribbon and some twine.

Hope you can join us for this challenge, it would be so much fun!
You will also find more fabulous inspiration over at Karen's blog. See you there. Petra.

Cheerful Monday #15 - Beauty

For Vicki's second challenge week: My Kind of Gal I created a tag using one of Lunagirl's lovely Ladies

I love her pose and her dramatic outfit (lol).
I cut out the image and layered it on musical paper from FancyPants and a couple of doilies.
One of the doilies is a die cut from Cheery Lynn Designs cut from Kars patterned paper.
The tag is embellished with paper flower, organza ribbon and some pearl.

Hope you can join us for the challenge. Have a lovely Monday, Petra.

Hay Festival of Literature and the Arts

Last weekend I went to the Hay Festival of Literature and the Arts for the very first time. It was a glorious day, the festival a wonderful celebration of literature and arts. I got completely hooked and loved every minute of it! And so did a lot of others ....
During the day I went to talks with Audrey Niffenegger (author of eg Ravengirl and The Time Traveller's Wife), Amanda Goldsworthy (interpreter to some of the French Presidents), a Dragon's Den for young entrepreneurs, Gile Coren (food critique) and Marcus Brickstock (a comedian) .... totally inspiring and awesome.
There will be a next time! Have a lovely week, Petra.
