Button(s) and Bow(s)

My very talented crafty friend Debbie had birthday last Sunday and it was too good an opportunity to miss to make a birthday card for her
It all started with a photo of one of the flower table decorations at my daughter's wedding. I combined the photo with Kraft card, doily and patterned paper from BoBunny and layered it onto a square white card. The sentiment is created using BoBunny letter stickers. The finishing touches are some lace, pearl and bling and a button and a bow (lol). Happy crafting, Petra.

A Little Recipe

One of our friends' children loves Brownie Cake. For every birthday I get an order for Brownie Cake with smarties. Very soon he and his family will leave England so I made a little recipe card for him with the recipe of his very favourite cake

Supplies:
papers - textured brown card from Elzybells, white linen textured card, cupcake paper (?)
stamp - Haenglar
ribbon - from my stash

Although the occasion is a sad one, I enjoyed making this little recipe card. The stamped image is absolutely adorable and fits so well.
I hope our little friend will enjoy many more Brownie cakes ... even if he has to bake them himself (lol). Petra.

This card also fits for the Cupcake Craft Challenge: Food & Drink

Friends in Favourite Colours

Just a little card for a very good friend. I choose my favourite colours: white-red (preferably darker red) -black

Supplies:
papers - textured white card, dotted Bazzill red and black card, Doodlebug Design
image - Digital Two for Tuesday
stamp - Elzybells
ink - VersaColor
colouring - Koh-i-noors with OMS
ribbon - from my stash
pearls - Kanban
Nestabilities, Sizzix flower dies

I love this little image from Digital Two for Tuesday, it is really sweet. To match the colour scheme I did some fuzzy cutting in red patterned paper for the hats and dresses. Looking at the card I am not 100% happy with it. I am not sure what it is ... I think I will have another go soon (LOL).
This card fits two challenges: Gingersnap Creations '3 Colours You Love' and Cupcake Crafts challenges 'Friends'.
Have a good start into the new week ahead, Petra.

A little Note

When sending off my circle book earlier this year, I thought it would be nice to add a little note and I resort to one of the very fine and stylish images from the Graphics Fairy
The image was printed on slightly textured card which has a subtle grey undertone to it. I cut the card with nestabilities label no8, folded it in the middle and then mounted the separate image. The edges of the card are coloured with VersaColor ink.

Since then I used this specific image many times. It is so versatile, the sentiment can be changed to fit any occasion. And it makes a very fine little simple card fitting for the Cupcake Craft Challenge this week, Petra.

A little Birdie told me .....

.... my dad has birthday very soon
I created the card layout to a sketch from Cupcake Craft Challenges

The image is a wonderful bird image from the Graphics Fairy. I love the muted colours which fit so well with the layered K&Company papers. The lacey ribbon was a very nice surprise from Pattie, I found the buttons in my grandma's button box. Petra.

Going Girly

Still working on a commission for birthday cards the current theme for Cupcake Craft Challenges fitted nicely: Going Girly

Supplies:
plain white square card
paper - K&Company, plain lilac card
stamp - Stretch N' Bubbles, Studio g
ink - VersaVolor
blings - Kanban, Papermania
ribbon - from my stash
foam pads

The stamp from Alison is really sweet. After printing the image when it came to choosing the papers, well, I had the choice between leaving the image on white paper and colouring the imgae or cut out the image, leave it almost white and set it onto a coloured background. I thought it might make a nice change not to colour the image but just to embellish it a little bit.
Petra.

Lots of spots and dots. The main colour theme is blue because I already know that at least one of the babies will be a baby boy (lol).

A Pair of Dotty Spotty Birthdays

... in 5"x5" format. For the Daring Cardmakers challenge it was 'going dotty' (polka-dots) and the Cupcake Craft challenge team asked for a 5"x5" birthday card. No Christmas theme! I quite enjoy the break from making Christmas cards and I had a request for some easy and simple birthday cards. This just fitted in nicely. And as I prepared the first card somehow a second one sneaked in, so the cards come in a pair

Supplies: papers - BasicGrey, Marieke Vermeulen; stamps - Sugar and Spice; ink - Heine; printed sentiment; foam pads; Stickles 'Xmas Red' and 'Frosted Lace'; nestabilities - squares

Supplies: papers - BasicGrey, Marieke Vermeulen; stamps - digi stamp from Stretch N'Bubbles; printed sentiment; nestabilities - squares; quickutz - circle, scallop circle; flower punch; bling - Kanban; little bow/hat needle - from my stash

Have a nice dotty spotty evening, Petra.

Digi Santa & Cupcake Craft Challenge

I needed a very quick and easy Christmas card and to use a digital stamp was just very tempting because the printed and cut-out digital image of the Santa had already been lurking in one of my papercraft boxes for a while. So by keeping it simple the card was ready to be used and to be submitted for this week's Cupcake Craft Challenge in no time

Supplies:
card - tree shaped card from Papermania
paper - plain white and red card
digital stamp - DAISIE Company
sentiment stamp - Dulcie Jackson (Quick Cards)
ink - VersaColour
colouring - Sakura, Koh-i-noor
blings - Kanban
glitter - LOTS from my stash
punches - Woodware, Nestabilities
embossing folder - Cuttlebug 'Snowflakes'

As the card had already the shape of the tree all I had to do was to emboss the white card, attach the blings, colour the Santa and give him lots of glitter, created and attached the sentiment and the star embellishment for the top and that was it - well, not quite.
It is always a bit difficult to write on red card so I slightly changed the inside by inserting white card and giving it a little star as decoration.

The digital Santa is a free digital stamp from the DAISIE Company. At the moment they offer a Christmas freebie with very cute and charming digital stamps.
Petra.

Snowy Diorama

The idea came from Paula who had created a stunning diorama card this week. It looked like a lot of fun and seemed to be just what could be used for the 'Snow Much Fun' challenge at the Cupcake Craft Challenge this week

The instructions for such a diorama card can be found here. It is really easy to make just a bit more cutting than usual - but this, of course, depends on the size of your card. And one of the best features of this card is that it folds flat. So it is also easy to put it in an envelope

Supplies:
papers - plain white, blue and green card, Hot of The Press 'Snowflakes', some patterned paper I don't know anymore where it came from
sentiment - printed
snowman - free digistamp 'DAISIE Company'
colouring with Koh-i-noors
blings - Kanban, Craftime
ribbon - Crafty Ribbons
embossing folders - Cuttlebug 'Snowflakes' and 'Swiss Dots'
circle cutters - Quickutz circles
Stampin' Up eyelet border punch
flower - crocheted by me :-)

Hope you enjoy it, Petra.

Cupcake Craft Challenge #64

Sketches are like recipes and I love recipes. I came across a particular nice one set by Caryn for the Cupcake Craft Challenge #64:

My sketch interpretation:

Supplies:
* a square white card
* covered with a snowscene paper downloaded from the web (cannot remember from where)
* 3 length of stripes of dark blue plain paper and Hot of the Press 'Snowflakes'
* the centre was created by cutting a dark blue plain paper square and layering it with a stamped image (Elzybells 'A Winter Song', coloured with Koh-i-noors and OMS, glitter from Stickles 'Frosted Lace'), a white embossed card frame (Cuttlebug embossing folder 'Swiss Dots'), a very thin square frame (Hot of the Press 'Snowflakes') and lots of tiny glittery snowflakes (punch: Woodware, Stickles 'Frosted Lace')
* the butterfly of the sketch turned into a double snowflake with a felted brad in the middle (punch: Sizzix 'Holidays', brad: Woodware)

Enjoy, Petra.
