Spring Butterflies

I love Spring when nature awakes and shows its colourful dress, and I love butterflies dancing in the wind and visiting the many flowers which will hopefully appear soon :-)

Supplies:
plain qhite square card
paper - leftover wrapping paper, Marieke Vermeulen, plain red card, Mind's Eye
nestabilities
stamps - Elzybells
ink - Heine
ribbon/button - from my stash
blings - Kanban

I alsways try to use as much scrap paper as possible. This time I found some leftover wrapping paper with flowers which was just perfect for my purpose; it did not only have the right colour combination, the paper is also slightly textured.
The card is for the SophistiCat and Docrafts challenge. Petra.

Baby Challenges

A Baby card is the them of the current Cupcake Craft Challenges and Docrafts Inspirational challenge is almost all about dots and spots and as I need lots of baby cards quite soon what better way to start the challenge and cardmaking season with a first baby card
Supplies:
white textured square card
papers - Papermania
stamps - Woodware
ink - VersaColor
ribbon - from my stash
foam pads

Lots of spots and dots. The main colour theme is blue because I already know that at least one of the babies will be a baby boy (lol).

Have a good and safe start into the new week. Petra.

Snow Lady - Winter Birthday

For last week's Docrafts challenge I made a Winter Birthday card

Supplies:
plain square card
paper - burgundy plain card, Cratepaper, plain blueish paper from my stash
stamps - High Hopes, Elzybells
ink - VersaColor, Artemio
colouring - colouring pencils & OMS, chalks from Craf-t Products (sorry, this is unfortunately not very visible on the photo)
ribbon - from my stash
Stckles 'Gold'
Quickutz - circles

The Snow Lady is such a cutie. When I saw a stamped image of her for the first time, I couldn't resist and I had to get the stamp. During winter time this stamp is so versatile - birthdays, Christmas, winter wishes, Season greetings - whatever you can think of. It also goes very well with the lovely Cratepaper which has a lovely rough texture. Petra.

Christmas decoration - Paper Bauble

A few years ago I saw a charming paper bauble in a Christmas magazine but only now when I saw the Docrafts challenge 'Deck the Halls' I remembered the bauble and created a prototype to see how it works out. I chose cool colours (white/grey/glitter/blueish)

For this project I recycled the 'past' by using old Christmas cards. How to:
* choose a colour scheme which you like
* cut out 21 same sized circles
* on each circle draw a triangle with same length sides touching the edge of the circle at all three points
* score and fold along the lines of the triangles
* top and bottom: for each glue 5 circles together along the flaps so that they form a long line and then join them for a bigger circle
middle part: glue together the remaining 10 circles so that they form a long line and then join them for a bigger circle
* glue the top and the bottom to the middle circle
* pierce the top and bottom and thread a ribbon or thread through

You can also add your personal touch by using buttons, pearls, etc for decorating the bauble even further.
Have a nice weekend, Petra.
