Lunagirl - Goddess

A new week a new challenge over at Lunagirl Moonbeams: Goddess with endless possibilities to celebrate the goddess in us and in others (lol). To create my tag I used some left-over inky background (various distress inks) on watercolour paper which I stamped with a musical note stamp (Impression Obsession) and distress ink 'Peeled Paint'

To adorn the tag I chose one of Lunagirl Moonbeams beautiful goddess image from her Goddess collage sheet, slightly distressed the edges around the image
and embellished it with ribbon, lace, half-pearls, a button and little fabric flowers.

Please do pop over to Lunagirl Moonbeams blog to see all the fabulous projects from the DT and hopefully to join in the fun! Petra.

Photo Session #14 - Snowdrop Walk

Ah well, the sun did not really want to appear today but we went for a longish walk anyway (20km). Apart from being with friends and the paths being very muddy, the highlights of the walk were definitely wonderful clusters of snowdrops. We have seen them all along our walk ... a true snowdrop walk. They looked so cheerful with their nodding heads and are such a wonderful sign of early Spring
I wish you all a wonderful start into the new week, Petra. x

Cake - Sunshine & Tardis

Yippeeehhhh! Sunshine and lovely temperatures ... it felt so very much like Spring today. To celebrate the change in weather I think we all deserve a nice piece of cake (lol).
A colleague of mine commissioned a birthday cake for his Dad, he send me this link and said: I want a similar cake for my Dad with writing and everything  (his Dad is to be a bit of a Dr Who fan) ...So I started to design, construct, measure, cut , glue
and in the end it looked like this
vanilla cake with strawberry jam and vanilla buttercream

I wish you all a lovely Sunday with lots of sunshine, Petra.

Lunagirl - Vintage Heart Tag

February is a month I cannot help but associate with roses and red. It seems to be so natural to do so (lol) For Lunagirl Moonbeams challenge: Vintage Red I could not help but to combine the two by altering a wooden heart tag by using a lot of gesso, redish paint and doing a lot of sanding
I covered the front with very thin printed paper also sanding the edges
and attached some teeny tiny punched hearts and a wonderful elegant and stylish Lady's hand from Lunagirl Moonbeams  Red collage sheet.

The back is covered with paper from Authentique paper, the edges sanded.
I added a little chipboard heart which I did start to decorate but never finished and looked a bit battered. But somehow it seemed to work with the more rustique style. It is embellished with a little printed word and a nother teeny tiny punched heart.

There is still time to take part in the challenge and we would love to see your creations. Pop over to Lunagirl Moonbeams blog to join and to see all the fabulous DT creations. Petra.

Tag Tuesday - Insects

Spring is almost in the air with Spring-like temperatures, the birds looking for suitable nests and the first bees humming around early flowers. And with the weather being a bit calmer it is such a nice feel. The theme over at Tag Tuesday is so very fitting this week: insects. I choose just one insect, my very favourite one: a butterfly
I covered the basic tag with crinkled sewing pattern tissue paper

coloured it with various chalks and ribbed off the tissue paper around the basic tag.

I added some gesso to the middle of the tag, spread some watercolour paint on the craftmat and layed
the tag onto the paint.

The butterfly and the sentiment (both Darkroom Doors stamps) were stamped with blue acrylic paint, the lines were created with acrylic paint using atracing wheel.

As embellishments I added some little blings, some wooden beads and a little chiffon ribbon.

Enjoy your Tuesday, Petra.

Cheerful Monday #48 - Black & White

Today is Monday and time for a new challenge, a colour challenge over at the Cheerful Stamp Pad: Black & White. This colour combination is always so classy and I love both colours very much.
I created the card background by stamping repeatedly little Penny Black flowers with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. It was not only fun but was also very relaxing (lol)
I added some black card and a digital stamp from Bugaboo Digi Stamps. To embellish the card I stamped two butterflies from Crafty Individuals and cut them out and also added some very narrow gingham ribbon.

Hope you have time to join us and also pop over to the blog to see all the fabulous creations from the DT! Petra.

Photo Session #13 - South Devon/Beesands 08.02.2014: Never Give Up

Well, I thought the race should have been cancelled ... South Devon/Beesands last weekend flooding everywhere and more bad weather to come .... but the Endurancelife race organisers have this slogan: Never Give Up ... so it was not cancelled or re-scheduled and my DH still training hard for his long race had to go and I, well, I went with him ... although quite reluctant I have to admit. And it was quite an experience ... the area is absolutely beautiful with its small villages, wonderful beaches and brilliant walks along the coast ... if it would not have been for the weather ... like in April with sunshine and rain and not to mention the hail which felt like bullets and the gusts (up to 80 mph) and the mud .... and some flooding along the way ....
here they are waiting for the start (marathon distance)
facing some muddy paths and rainy weather and hail during the day
quiet moments full of sunshine and wonder
 effects of the storm
 some flooding along the trail
and he made it and he did really well!
While Peter was running, I went for a walk and experienced all the difficulties just like the runners and I enjoyed it (lol)
See you for the next adventure! Keep safe, dry and warm wherever you are.
Petra.

Lunagirl - The Colour 'Red'

Red in all variations is one of my favourite colours and so perfect with Valentine's Day just around the corner! So, Lunagirl Moonbeams new challenge is all about: Vintage Red

The focal point for my card is this seducing Ladies' imagefrom Lunagirl Moonbeams Red collage sheet.
I layered it on paper from EchoPark and My Mind's Eye
and adorned it with some ribbon, a little chipboard heart covered with EchoPark paper.
The final touch is a tiny letter from the heart charm and a little bow.

If you would like to see more fabulous inspiration from the DT, just hop over to Lunagirl Moonbeams blog. Hope you can join us! Petra.

Photo Session #12 - Cross Country Running ..... and the first signs of Spring

.... no, not ME! Peter and our friend Paco had another little running race here in the South of the UK. Last Sunday morning was beautiful - a day almost without rain! It was fun to watch everybody geared up for the race and quite clean.....
The runners faced those tracks and I can assure you that nobody looked quite the same anymore (LOL)
But amongst all the mud and wetness there were the first signs of Spring .... giving hope for some nicer weather and enjoyment.
Take care and keep safe wherever you are, Petra. x

Jewellery - Stamped Pendant

The inspiration for this little bit of jewellery came from Paula's (from One Lucky Day ) wooden stamped disks. I just fell in love with them and really had to give it a try. It all started with a wooden disk and gesso and several layers of distress stains and Perfect Pearls ... front and back

I stamped the disk with Archival Ink and stamps from PrimaMarketing and PaperArtsy. To seal it a generous layer of Glossy Accents was applied to which I then added a little bling.
Instead of using Memory Foil tape (which I di not have) I just added a little bit of Silver Stickles around the edge. To make it into a piece of wearable art a little bail was glued to the back of the disk and a lovely voile ribbon and waxed cord is used as necklace

Have a lovely evening, Petra.
