Experimental Frog Leap

with Gingersnap Creations for Once In A Blue Moon challenge: Things That Leap ... on Leap Day or all year round (lol)
Aren't they sweet ... and maybe a little bit creepy .... but they seem to be full of enthusiasm and determination to get the golden ball out of the pond, well, the pretend pond!
This is quite an old book I 'rescued' from a dump. The paper is wonderfully soft, mellow and aged and it was a joy to work with it. To alter the book I started cutting circles by hand creating a small basin just deep enough for the golden pearl/ball. The next step was to glue the pages together. Because I wanted the book to look like a book I did not glue the sides of the book but only the individual pages
For creating the leap scene I inked the background and surface with various distress inks and stamped the muslin pattern from Lost Coast Design. I cut out the frogs from a clipart image and glued it to the page. The big bolt letters are Sizzix diecuts also stamped with the muslin pattern.

Land of Fantasy

A wonderful new challenge at the Cheerful Stamp Pad

The card is not quite what I would usually do but it was great fun to use the stitching and do the colouring of the image and see it coming together.

Snow White

... without the dwarfs (lol) - vanilla sponge with strawberry jam and vanilla buttercream filling - a complete Snow White doll inside .... for a little girl to enjoy .... have a wonderful weekend, Petra.

Spanish Olive and Pink Variations

This time the Gingersnap Creations Color Challenge is about using just two colours in your project whereby these colours can be used in any variation you can think of .... my choice fell on Spanish Olive and various shades of Pink
I took some slightly textured white card and embossed it with a Cuttlebug embossing folder - after inking the folder with VersaMagic Spanish Olive. The inking was done unevenly which gives a bit of a distressed effect on the card. I coloured the raised areas - little flowers - with Copics in various Pinks.
For the stamped images I inked some white card with Distress ink 'Spun Sugar' which gave a very subtle pinkish background. All images are from the Relish Reading Plate from Rogue Redhead Design. I stamped the sentiment and cut it with a Nestabilities die. The wonderfully sweet children were stamped twice - once in Spanish Olive and once in Pink Petunia - and clear embossed. I then cut the images and positioned them on the card.

Valentine's Day

A Valentine's Day with roses, paper doily and a beautiful lady
The tag is created around a 'mixed media' photo which I took after my daughter's wedding using some of the roses which were part of the table decoration. I stamped the image of the lady on PrimaMarketing patterned paper (stamp: LaBlanche) and decorated the stamped paper with the roses

(feel free to use the image in your art, if you do I would LOVE to see your creation)

I printed the photo on shimmery cardstock and cut a circle from the image which is mounted on a doily cut from black embossed card. The tag is embellished with a pink rose ribbon. Petra.

Happy Birthday

Altered Head(s)

This was a challenge! Altered bodies ... no problem ... swap a leg here, swap an arm there or something like this but altered heads (heads and shoulders only)? Oh dear .... at first I really struggled to get MY head around the challenge set by Debs for the first Art 'n' Soul swap this year: You can alter your head(s) in any way you like. But remember, 100% digital is not allowed.
Format: TRITYCH ATC
Once I had organised myself I then managed to ruin two pieces just before completion ... this was definitely not planned! So what you see here is plan C .... I created an ATC Tryptich where the middle part is split into two halfs and opens out to the side. The base was cut from relatively strong white card and then covered with 7 Gypsies paper (actually all patterend paper is from 7 Gypsies). For the outside I stamped the paptterned paper with a stamp from Impression Obsession which I embossed with mirror gold embossing powder. For the 'topper' I stamped an image from Lynne Perrella and layered it on patterend paper. As adornment I chose some blings and a little plastic flower ... this topper extended the front part a little bit .... For the closure I attached a woven wool ribbon which is closed with safety pin and book screw
.... and I gained a little bit more space for the inside decorations (lol). To create the inside I stamped and embossed all three sides ....
... the left and right side with PaperArtsy stamps and the middle with a component stamp from Tim Holtz. The next step was the decoration .... The eye from the Graphics Fairy ... coloured with Koh-i-noors ... behind the alteration wheel cut with a Sizzix die-cut and heat-embossed while the alteration letters on the right hand-side are from BoBunny

For the middle part I stamped again an image from Lynne Perrella, cut it out and embellished it with hook, circle and bling
