Lunagirl - Bathing Beauty

The new challenge over at Lunagirl Moonbeams has started: Bathing Beauties. I love this challenge, it makes me think of sunshine, holidays on the beach, swimming in the Sea and so much more ... I wish I could be there (sigh). My first project was inspired by a card from Heleen van Rees from Cards Only magazine
My beautiful bathing beauty image is from Karen's wonderful Bathing Beauties sheet.
The colours matched perfectly with my new Authentique papers (lol).
I distressed all paper layers with Black Soot distress ink.
As embellishments I added some buttons, a stamped postmark from Eline Pellinkhof, organza ribbon and some twine.

Hope you can join us for this challenge, it would be so much fun!
You will also find more fabulous inspiration over at Karen's blog. See you there. Petra.

Cheerful Monday #15 - Beauty

For Vicki's second challenge week: My Kind of Gal I created a tag using one of Lunagirl's lovely Ladies

I love her pose and her dramatic outfit (lol).
I cut out the image and layered it on musical paper from FancyPants and a couple of doilies.
One of the doilies is a die cut from Cheery Lynn Designs cut from Kars patterned paper.
The tag is embellished with paper flower, organza ribbon and some pearl.

Hope you can join us for the challenge. Have a lovely Monday, Petra.

Hay Festival of Literature and the Arts

Last weekend I went to the Hay Festival of Literature and the Arts for the very first time. It was a glorious day, the festival a wonderful celebration of literature and arts. I got completely hooked and loved every minute of it! And so did a lot of others ....
During the day I went to talks with Audrey Niffenegger (author of eg Ravengirl and The Time Traveller's Wife), Amanda Goldsworthy (interpreter to some of the French Presidents), a Dragon's Den for young entrepreneurs, Gile Coren (food critique) and Marcus Brickstock (a comedian) .... totally inspiring and awesome.
There will be a next time! Have a lovely week, Petra.

Lunagirl - Divas

Did you know that Karen from Lunagirl has a challenge blog? She has! It is a two weeks challenge with wonderful themes and ... there is also a prize ... one of Karen's fabulous digital collage sheets.
For the current challenge: Divas you still have till Sunday night to join in. I created a tag with one of Lunagirl's beautiful images from collage sheet: Beauties 2
as focal point. The image is layered on patterend paper (PinkPaislee),
its edges distressed with Stickles.
The tag is embellished with ribbon flowers, little blings and pearls and Mulberry flowers.

For more fabulous inspiration pop over to Lunagirl's blog, hopefully you can join in! Petra.

Little Miss Muffet - Sketch Challenge

It is the end of May (already, time seems to fly!) and the last Little Miss Muffett May challenge, a sketch challenge:
I love this sketch, it is so versatile and sets the image brilliantly as focal point. For my project I could not help but using Chester again, he is so adorable
This is Retro Chester with his cool headphones and retro cassette player! I coloured him entirely with colouring pencils and layered him on various patterned papers from EchoPark papers. The papers are attached with a little bit of machine-stitching.
The word is stamped using Memento ink and a stamp from Betty's Creations.
The stars are cut with Nestabilities dies and attached with staples.

This is my last blog post as guest designer for Little Miss Muffett. It was such wonderful fun and I enjoyed every minute of it. I will miss being part of the DT with all those talented Ladies and their inspiring creations. Pop over to Little Miss Muffett to see all the works of the DT.
Petra.

(Belated) Cheerful Monday #14 - My Kind of Gal

I am very late with my Cheerful Monday post and the current Cheerful Stamp Pad challenge: My Kind of Gal. I used one of the wonderful images from Gingerloft Digi Stamps
I just love all the flowers and butterflies. I layered and printed the image on digital paper from TracyAnn Digital Paper. To give it a bit more depth I created a lot of layers by cutting the flowers in the hair and butterflies separately. The image is coloured with copics. Some little blings are the finishing touches.
Hope you come and play along, Petra.

Photo Session #5 - Back from Holidays

...... and it is soooo difficult to get back into the swing of the 'normal' daily routine. I truly struggle to find my rhythm again :-(
We went to the Canary Islands for two weeks ... to La Palma ... and it was AMAZING ... full of colour, sunshine, warmth, flowers, landscape, wonderful people, amazing food and the sea ....
I collected landscapes

flowers and plants

architectural finds

and sweet little cheeky birds

and so much more .....

Hope you enjoyed the photos, have a lovely weekend, Petra.
