Told You So

... another canvas and tissue paper project ... this time a little one and still experimenting
This time I gessoed the canvas first and then painted it using acrylic paints. The paint layer was not smooth but I kept it a bit rough and structured. Once the paint was dry I covered it with stamped tissue paper (stamps: Prima Marketing, Penny Black). Before sealing the canvas I stamped around the edges (stamp: Penny Black).
The finishing touches are some little pearls and a leftover ruffled ribbon .... the next canvas is already waiting! Petra.

Trinchie Swap: Garden Party

Unfortunately the weather has not really been very supportive of Garden Parties lately (lol) ... I took part in the UPA trinchie swap: 6 trinchies, all different, more than one layer, theme: Garden Party. It took me a while before I could get my head around, surely the weather didn't help ...
All backgrounds are inked using various distress inks with stamps, stencils or heat embossing
image: Cherry Kisses Tea from Pollycraft coloured with Copics - some lace, Prima Marketing flower
stamps: Crafty Individuals - image: Catnip Studio Collage - colouring: distress inks, some Stickles -

Experimental Colours

Last night I played with acrylic paints ... I have to learn so much (sigh), it is quite daunting but also really good fun. From one of my experiments I made this little tag
I randomly dabbed  three different acrylic paint colours on heavy textured water colour card, cut the tag using one of the Sizzix alteration dies. I stamped on it with a Paperartsy stamp and Archival Ink (Jet Black) ... I quite like the outcome of the stamping, the black is not solid but somehow the image slots in with the background. As embellishments I chose some folded washi tape, little coloured jeweller's tags and a blck button. Enjoy your weekend, Petra.

Postcard Butterflies

This is my postcard for our KindredSpririt postcard swap organised by Jules
Oh, it is so difficult to make a one-layer-card because it is so tempting to add a little bit of bling here, a little button there (lol) ... this time I managed to restrain myself and do without add-ons and it was good fun, I basically inked it all up: the background is brushed distress ink 'Stormy Sky' stencilled with distress ink 'Faded Jeans' using a Tattered Angel stencil. The stamped images are all from various stamp sets from Tim Holtz/Stamper Anonymous. And at last I dabbed a little bit of various acrylic inks around the corners.
The postcard will be posted tomorrow and I hope the recipient likes it, Petra.
