Photo Session #1 - Snowy Days

It finally arrived ..... the first snow this winter! It looks wonderful and so magical outside. Everything is covered in this soft white fluffy stuff which is so cold and wet and so disruptive to daily life but .... I LOVE it. We went for a little snow walk yesterday and it was brilliant to see so many kids with their sleighs (it doesn't happen that often here in the South of England (lol) ) truly enjoying themselves. I could not resist to take a few photos

Wishing you a lovely weekend, stay safe and warm, Petra.

Flowery Tags

Today I would like to share a project with you which is part of my preparations for a german Eastermarket at the beginning of March (just about 6 more weeks to create cards, boxes, .... , can you hear the slight panic? (lol) ). My dear friend Martina convinved me that it would be a good idea to do something like this .... and I could not say no .... so here I am with the first finished products ... 30 small tags cut, stamped, distressed and embellished. These are the steps in creating those little flower tags
step 1:
I used patterend paper from The Girl's Paperie and My Minds Eye to cut the tags and stamped them with a Prima Marketing stamp and distress inks in two colours (brown and blue)
 step 2:
The edges of the stamped tags and the little round labels have been distressed with distress ink. When this was done the true fun bit started and this is the result

step 3:
I embellished the tags with little flowers and velvet ribbon from the Ribbon Girl and buttons from my stash.  As I thought it might be a bit difficult to write something on the back because of the flowers, I attached a little round label to the back of each tag using some white silky and some cotton ribbon from my stash. Here is the back
And now back to the next batch of tags (lol) Petra.

Cheerful Monday #1 - White as Snow

There has not been any snow in this part of the country and I have to admit I miss it ... winter without snow, well, it is not a real winter (sigh).  Not to become too melancholic I decided to make a card for a merry and cheerful occasion: a white wedding card for Vicki's first challenge over at the Cheerful Stamp Pad: White as Snow

I used a square white card and layered it with white pearlescent  and corrugated card. The edges of the pearlescent card are punched with a Martha Stuart edge punch. The middle part of the card is covered with white lace and grosgrain ribbon. I created a focal point by cutting a wonderful flower wreath from white pearlescent card (Memory Box Die) and a heart (hand-cut) ... lots of blings and a little heat-embossed sentiment (stamps: Elzybells).

Now it is your turn. I hope you have time to participate in Vicki's first challenge of 2013. She has found an awesome sponsor - Classy Cards 'n Such - with lots of wonderful items in stock. So, waht are you waiting for. Come and play with us! Petra.

'Happy New Year' Rose and a little Giveaway

My first post of 2013 ..... Hope you all had wonderful holidays and are rested for the new crafty year ahead (lol) ..... This morning I found the most amazing flowering red rose next to my front door, I am not quite sure how this happened as it is way to early but it is very much appreciated after all the rain and dull weather we had over the last weeks. I love this rose - its colour and its wonderful smell
And now to my little giveaway .... I was featured in the January edition of the Craft Stamper ... yippeeh! I am so chuffed and excited about it and still cannot quite believe it. This is the card published .... inspired by Lousette Ashton and her colourful scooter card in the August 2012 Craft Stamper magazine
If you would like to get the magazine (including the wonderful free stamp), please just leave a comment.

I wish you and your dearest a very happy and healthy New Year. Happy crafting, Petra.
