Last year December I was so lucky to have the chance to attend a
Finnabair workshop together with
Lucy. The workshop had been organised by
Artist Trading Post, and it was just amazing. The atmosphere was truly electric with Finnabair being energetic and full of ideas and inspiration. All workshop participants were so tense in their concentration but yet, it was so much fun and I learned SO MUCH. We created a canvas with one of Finnabair's chipboard horses as centre-piece layered on lots and lots of mica powders, paints, lace, fabric, embellishments
This was the canvas at the end of the session. I was very happy with the layout and the design but I felt it looked a bit flat ....
....
Treasure Gold and some more small embellishments like little fabric flowers, buttons and half-pearls did the trick
This is the centre-piece of the canvas and I like the horse a lot!
Hope you have a great week, Petra. x

It's absolutely stunning, Petra! Love the rich ruby reds, especially with all that glamorous gilding.

I'm CRAZY about rocking horses, and this one is divine. I am in love, love, love with it and the way you featured it in this mixed media piece. Well done adding the final bits to it, too.
It sounds like it was a fabulous workshop Petra, and your canvas turned out great - those final finishing touches really did change the whole thing x
