Do you know or even own a Bernina sewing machine? They are brilliant. Mine is now more than 30 years old and has been used heavily. It is quite basic but it has never let me down and the quality of the sewing is really outstanding .... and I will get a second one very soon! I am absolutely excited, it is the same model so I can use one for fabric and one for paper (LOL) ... how lucky is this! The lady who owned the machine beforehand had it for years in her loft but she never used it and said I could have it .... I was so amazed and I am so grateful for this. To say thank you I made a card for her which turned out quite spotty with various shades of blue and I used the July sketch from the
Gingersnap Creations challenge

I do own a Bernia, but am ashamed to say it has been covered in a beautiful cover I made for years. Been thinking about pulling it out to do decorative stitching on cards!!! And speaking of cards, I love your shades of blue! Great piece!!
OMG, what an absolutely brilliant card!!! Your friend will love it. All of the sewing themed stamps, the delightful details (the thread, the pattern, the tape measure-), and that gorgeous quilt block in blue are so wonderful. My mom has always owned Berninas - she "traded up" as her skills progressed, and she has been an avid quilter for a long time now. She would love a card like this... will have to CASE it sometime. Thanks for sharing, and congrats on coming into another machine - quite decadent to have one for fabric and one for paper, LOL!
