Autumn Leaves

... on and in an empty ribbon spool. I had it for ages and it was such fun to alter it!
I gently took the spool apart and covered the back and the outside with patterend paper from JillibeanSoup. For the inside I decided on a crackled look using PaperArtsy Fresco chalk and crackle paint (this worked a treat!). The acorns and leaves are stamped, cut out, coloured with colouring pencils and covered with Diamond Glaze. The stamps are from a Dutch stamp company called Ludies-Different Colors. They have brilliant designs and the quality is great, it was a treat to use them.
As finishing touches I found a little leftover organza ribbon, some pearls and a little stamped word label (Crafty  Individuals). Have a lovely evening, Petra.

  5. What a fabulous idea! It almost looks like the spool is a giant acorn itself, holding your stamped ones.

  8. This turned out great! A local art friend made nice Christmas ornaments last year using the empty spools/reels...something I have wanted to try...

You really captured the harvest feel of this time of year
